GeneTree’s proprietary DNA test collection services are provided through any of the 3000+ worldwide affiliated DNA test collection locations. Specimens are collected at such locations and then sent directly to the GeneTree DNA Testing Laboratory. The Legal DNA Relationship Test results are then sent to the appropriate destinations in an easy-to-understand and courtroom-compliant format.
Before ordering a Legal Relationship Test, call Cellular GenetiX @ 215-665-1193. Our service representatives will answer all questions and help you schedule an appointment at a registered and accredited facility. For each individual being tested at a facility other than GeneTree (Salt Lake City, Utah) there is an additional $30 charge. If individuals are located in different areas, Cellular GenetiX will set up collection appointments at multiple locations. A $30 fee is applied per each additional specimen collection location requested. Once satisfied with the scheduled appointments and locations, Cellular GenetiX sends the collection kit, with all the forms and instructions, directly to the specimen collection facility. Fingerprints and pictures may be taken at the time of collection to ensure proper identification. To learn more about DNA Testing or to order a test, go to the Relationship Genetic Testing page.
- Valid Picture ID (adults)
- Birth Certificate (children)
- Verification of informed consent from each test participant (Many states require the signature of the biological mother for children under 18 years of age).
NOTE: If either of these forms of ID are not available additional paperwork will need to be completed.
After collection the specimens will be sent to the laboratory for DNA Relationship testing. The full balance needs to be paid before the DNA testing at the laboratory begins. Results are then available in 7 business days, after full payment is received and specimens are collected.
Attention New York State Residents: New York State Law requires that all DNA paternity tests including a participant in the State of New York must include a Doctor's prescription (or a court order) and a documented chain-of-custody for all the specimens. Personal and/or anonymous DNA testing is prohibited in the State of New York. GeneTree does not provide DNA testing for New York State residents. New York State residents are encouraged to call GeneTree for a referral to a NYSDOH accredited laboratory.
